This is a fictional article for an update experiment.
At the arcade, I tried a rhythm game that I usually only watched. Most of the song titles were unfamiliar, so I chose one that looked easy. After reading the instructions, I started pressing the buttons along with the music.
At first, following the moving symbols took all my attention. I pressed too late and repeated the same mistakes. As similar patterns appeared again, I began to recognise where my hands should go. Eventually, I had enough time to enjoy the sound as well.
My score was low, but reaching the end of the song felt good. Rather than raising the difficulty, I tried another song at a similar speed. This time, I started calmly and found the controls easier to follow.
I left after the two songs I had planned to play. Improving a score is one possible goal, but finding music I like could be just as enjoyable. I want to remember today’s song title for my next visit.
